The Broncos announced the signings of kicker Taylor Bertolet and long snapper Christian Kuntz on Wednesday.
Bertolet spent the 2016 offseason with the Rams after going undrafted out of Texas A&M. During his senior season, Bertolet converted all 38 of his extra points, made 71 percent of his field goal attempts and connected on a career-long 55-yard field goal.
Bertolet has yet to attempt a kick in an NFL game.
Kuntz played linebacker and long snapped while at Duquesne. He finished his career with 71.5 career tackles for loss, the fourth-most in FCS history.
Why can’t the NFL just trust officials to know it when they see it?
Devin Taylor Youth Jersey Now coughing up a trio of second-round picks is never appealing, but remember that Maccagnan, with his $90 million free-agent bag, was able to fill holes with cornerback Trumaine Johnson, inside linebacker Avery Williamson, running back Isaiah Crowell and center Spencer Long. And except for Marcus Maye last year, the Jets haven’t exactly nailed their second-round picks.
He has more holes to fill 鈥?a long-lost pass rusher for one 鈥?but franchise quarterback Charles Clay Authentic Jersey has been the franchise’s Achilles heel since Joe Namath.
Maccagnan swung and missed on Christian Hackenberg two years ago. He decided not to swing for Deshaun Watson, Mitchell Trubisky and Mahomes.

Slater, 32, is a veteran of 10 NFL seasons with the Patriots after originally joining the team as a fifth-round draft pick (153rd overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft out of UCLA. The 6-foot, 205-pounder has played in 141 regular season games with three starts and 20 postseason contests with one start. Slater is a seven-time team captain and has earned seven consecutive Pro Bowl invitations as a special teamer, matching Steve Tasker (1987, 90-95) for most special teams Pro Bowl honors in NFL history. He has registered 136 special teams tackles during his career in the regular season and 14 in the postseason. In 2017, Slater was limited to nine regular season games and finished with seven special teams tackles. He played in all three playoff games and made two special teams tackles.
Bradford demonstrated in Week 1 what he can do when healthy, carving up the Saints for 346 yards and three touchdowns. But after a long history of knee injuries caught up to him, forcing surgery and limiting him to two starts this season, it’s fair to wonder how a team could commit to him for anything more than an incentive-laden flier. Mike Zimmer has painted a discouraging picture recently by saying that Bradford’s knee condition is degenerative.
The Los Angeles Rams have agreed to a two-year contract with center John Sullivan, the team confirmed Friday.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed by the Rams but Sullivan’s contract is worth $15 million, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
The 33-year-old veteran managed 200 yards receiving and 56 yards rushing in eight games last season for the Ravens, who never really figured out how to properly use him.
Part of that problem traces back to the hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for most of the first half of the season.
On his first drive with Baltimore, he caught three passes for 33 yards (including a one-handed reception) and ran once for 4 yards.
That’s when he aggravated a hamstring injury and was eventually placed on injured reserve.
He didn’t return until Nov. 19.
While the signing has yet to be made official, Mathieu tweeted to a number of Texans players, including Watt and quarterback Deshaun Watson.
Mathieu was suspended by LSU before the 2012 season for failing drug tests and then was arrested on drug-related charges that October before leaving school to begin preparing for the NFL draft.
He missed the entire 2012 season, leading to him fall to the Cardinals in the third round of the 2013 draft.
In 66 career games, Mathieu has 303 tackles, 25 pass breakups, 22 passes defensed, 11 interceptions, 4 sacks and 4 forced fumbles.
10 NFL free agents who landed in perfect spots Jimmy Graham can be a red zone monster for Aaron Rodgers and the Packers.
Here’s who else signed with an ideal team this offseason.
The first wave of free agency is done, but there are still some marquee names on the market, starting with former Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh.
The Tennessee Titans are among multiple teams that have interest in Suh, and he’s scheduled to visit with the Titans in Nashville this weekend, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Titans general manager Jon Robinson isn’t afraid to make splashes. He’s known for being aggressive in trades, and he started free agency by signing star cornerback Malcolm Butler and explosive running back Dion Lewis. Robinson is focused on pushing the Titans to become a championship roster, but he’s been adamant in building the right culture to do so. The latter will be the most important element when determining if Suh-to-Tennessee is a serious possibility.
At the beginning of the process Monday, McCartney felt strongly any of the four鈥擟ards, Broncos, Jets, Vikings鈥攃ould win. But he and Cousins, before any formal bids came, felt that probably Minnesota and the Jets had an edge. (More about that later.) This process, McCartney decided, was going to be a silent auction. One offer per team. That would be it. Then a visit or two to a team (Cousins said he wanted to meet the coaches he鈥檇 be working with before signing anything); then a decision.
Kirk was not going to sign before he met the coaches and got a feel for the culture, McCartney said. It was a curious decision by McCartney. Cousins had waited more than two years for this chance to be on the open market. Now it was going to be a sprint

Hroniss Grasu Youth Jersey To that end, Tampa Bay flew Ryan Jensen in on the first night of the new league year, according to ESPN’s Jenna Laine. That paid off, as Jensen inked a four-year deal with the team, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
The Buccaneers shouldn’t stop there. Low-cost linemen with big upside should be the name of the game, which comes down to a matter of tying scheme fit to the right guy.
These sorts of low-investment gambles could range from a Cameron Fleming (who is for some reason still on the market, to a Mike Pouncey, who is still 28 years old and could perhaps use a change of scenery to have a bounce-back year.
The Tennessee Titans are on fire, using the apparent Patriots-Mike Vrabel connection to reel in major upgrades at running back and cornerback Eddie Vanderdoes Womens Jersey with Dion Lewis and Malcolm Butler, respectively.
With linebacker Avery Williamson gone, though, the middle of the defense becomes a problem.
The Giants and reliever Tony Watson agreed to a contract Friday night, believed to be a multi-year deal, according to FanRag Sports.
Watson, likely an eighth-inning candidate for the Giants, had a 2.57 ERA while pitching seven innings over 11 relief outings in the Dodgers’ 2017 postseason run. Watson was an All-Star for the Pirates in 2014. He has a 33-17 career record with a 2.68 ERA in 474 relief appearances.
The Miami Dolphins trimmed a significant amount off of the contract of Julius Thomas when he was acquired via trade in 2017, but he still lasted just one season in South Beach before he was released Wednesday to clear cap space, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Just three years ago, Thomas was one of the top free agents on the market after back-to-back Corey Lemonier Authentic Jersey Pro Bowl seasons with the Denver Broncos.
His 12-touchdown campaigns in 2013 and 2014 earned him a five-year, $46 million deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.
That lasted just two years before he was traded to the Dolphins for a late-round draft pick.
Nick Foles Womens Jersey His tenure in Miami was cut short after he finished the year with just 388 receiving yards and three touchdowns in 2017.
Dion Dawkins Mens Jersey Oh recorded 39 saves during his two seasons with the Cardinals. He made 76 appearances in 2016, striking out 103 batters in just 79 2/3 innings while posting a 1.92 ERA.
However, Oh struggled last season as the team’s full-time closer, finishing with 20 saves and a 4.10 ERA.
Last season, Texas (78-84) finished fourth in the AL West, missing the postseason for the first time since 2014.
Like Tabor, Agnew saw very little playing time on defense until late in the year.
The former University of San Diego standout set his school record with 48 pass breakups.

NFL free agency in 2018 won’t open for business until the new league year kicks off at 4 p.m. ET on March 14. But Boyd Gordon Authentic Jersey before then, teams will hope to reach terms on long-term extensions with the free agents they would like to keep for next season and beyond.
The 2017 season was tough for Pugh, as the 2013 first-rounder had to bounce around from left guard to right tackle again in New York’s often makeshift line. He also played only half of the season because of a back injury. His versatility to play multiple positions gives him nice rebound appeal away from the Giants.
McKinnon took advantage of the early-season injury to Dalvin Cook, remaining more active than ever as an explosive receiving back. He isn’t a guy a teampound between the tackles or give 25 touches, but hebe a valuable cog to boost a passing game.
Okafor was having his best, most disruptive season with 4 1/2 sacks in 10 games before going down with Achilles injury. He’s a solid all-around end with double-digit sack potential in the right system.
The 6-2, 213-pound former seventh-round pick tallied 65 tackles and two interceptions in Los Angeles last season. He was rated Pro Football Focus’ No. 69 cover corner out of 121 qualifiers last season.
Los Angeles tagged Johnson the past two seasons but he became expendable after the franchise traded for Pro Bowl cornerbacks Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib this offseason.

Robinson and Watkins got paid most, but former Seahawk Paul Richardson (5 years, $40 million from the Redskins) and former Chief Albert Wilson (3 years, $24 million from the Dolphins) can’t complain about averaging $8 million in annual salary coming off limited production. Heck, even former Patriot Danny Amendola (2 years, $12 million from the Dolphins) got more than he’s worth. John Brown ($5 milion) and Ryan Grant (four years, $29 million) got paid well by the Ravens, too. The Eagles paid Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith last year. Copycat city.
Boston’s Craig Kimbrel is about to enter a tense playoff game. The Red Sox lead by one run. It’s crunch time. Do or die. The opening strains of “Welcome to the Jungle” invade the air at Fenway Park. The crowd goes wild. And here comes perhaps the most intimidating flamethrower in baseball — in a tiny, non-intimidating bullpen cart.
I’ll pause here to say that it’s unlikely every team will adopt a bullpen cart in 2018, which makes worries about entrance music a bit premature. We can assume the Diamondbacks are bringing it back at least in part to help shave a few seconds off pitching changes in the ongoing quest to quicken the pace of play. Whether other teams join the fun remains to be seen.
But fun is the key word here. Any benefit to pace of play comes in a distant second to the whimsical nature and nostalgia of the bullpen cart. But then, entrance songs are mostly about fun, too. But if lack of an entrance song diminishes the baseball experience, if it robs the game of needed spectacle, I suppose teams could just exchange the carts for Roman-era chariots.
Or, solve both issues and just use the Doof Wagon from “Mad Max: Fury Road.”
What does Richard Sherman bring?
When healthy, Sherman is a lockdown cornerback who transforms a defense and takes the opponent’s best wide receiver out of the game. At 6’3, 195 pounds, Sherman has the length to play tight press coverage and win any jump ball.

Celtics guard Jaylen Brown made a 3-pointer with 38 seconds left on the clock Monday, and it proved enough to beat the Nuggets 111-110 in Denver.
Kyrie Irving led Boston with a game-high 27 points on 11-of-17 shooting, while also dishing out six assists. Irving has now scored 20-plus points in eight straight games. Jayson Tatum added 20 points and six rebounds.
Timberwolves point guard Jeff Teague scored just two points on 1-of-12 shooting in a 105-100 loss to the Hawks. Teague did dish out 10 assists, but his ineffectiveness from the floor helped lead to Minnesota’s surprise loss.
Thunder (30-20) at Wizards (27-22) 7:00 p.m. ET — Suddenly on fire, Oklahoma City has rattled off eight straight wins thanks to Paul George’s improved play. Russell Westbrook has again been a triple-double threat every night, while Steven Adams has developed into a two-way threat. Bradley Beal and John Wall give Washington a chance to win every night, but the Wizards are still looking for a consistent third scorer.
The Celtics will be without guard Marcus Smart again in Denver; he was sent home prior to the loss at Golden State and will miss an extended period of time due to hand lacerations sustained in a non-basketball injury.
Winners of three straight, the eighth-seeded Nuggets (26-23) look to keep pace in the Western Conference playoff race. In a 91-89 win over the Mavericks, Nuggets center Nikola Jokic hit the go-ahead field goal and posted his second triple-double of the season with 11 points, 11 assists and 16 rebounds. Jokic is averaging a team-high 5.3 assists per game this season, good for second among all centers in the NBA. In addition to production from Jokic, Denver has benefited from the scoring of talented young guards Gary Harris (17.3 points per game) and Jamal Murray (16.3 points per game) this season.
Can the Celtics get back on track, or will the Nuggets make it four straight wins?
The Oakland Athletics designated outfielder Brandon Moss for assignment on Sunday and claimed left-hander Jairo Labourt off waivers from the Cincinnati Reds.
Moss, 34, was acquired by the A’s in January in a multiplayer trade with the Kansas City Royals. He hit .207 with 22 home runs and 50 RBIs last season and has 160 home runs in his 11 season major league career.
He told the San Francisco Chronicle that he will retire if he is unable to land a major league job with another team. He told the newspaper that he’s not interested in working his way back from the minor leagues.
Tristan H. Cockcroft: All of these pitchers appeal to me in the middle rounds, which is the reason I have them all ranked between 30th and 40th among starting pitchers and 117th and 153rd overall, but the one who stands out slightly above the rest is Bauer. His is the best mix of the six in terms of durability, stuff and recent trend.
In the past three seasons combined, Bauer’s 89 starts and 542 1/3 innings pitched lead the pack, and he was also tops in both categories in 2017 alone (31 and 176 1/3).
During that same time span, Bauer’s 12.9 percent swinging-strike rate trailed only Godley’s 13.4 percent (but Godley’s came in less than half as many pitches thrown). Bauer’s 93.3 mph average fastball velocity was third, behind McCullers (94.2 mph) and Price (93.6 mph), and he boosted it to 94.0 mph in 2017 alone. Bauer’s curveball was also worth 5.4 runs above average during the second half of the season per FanGraphs, which was ninth-best in the game and trailed only Godley’s (10.2).
“That’s just the way it is. I understand everything. At the same time, you’re six months away from free agency. That’s intriguing.”
Dozier, 30, will make $9 million this season in the final year of a four-year contract. He told the Star Tribune that there have “not been any talks [with the Twins] about exploring an extension.”
Dozier has discussed his future on multiple occasions this offseason and told Twins Daily last month that he expected to become a free agent. He made it clear, however, in his interview with the Star Tribune that the Twins have not approached him about a new deal.
“We’ll see what happens, but at the same time you can only wait so long and then it’s all just focusing on the season and getting yourself ready to win,” he told the paper. “I’m a firm believer, man, I don’t put too much into all that kind of stuff. I go with the flow and let things take care of themselves.”
Millsap added: “That was big for us to come out and not fold under pressure. (The Grizzlies) had an opportunity to tie the game up a couple of times, and we were able to get stops.”
C Nikola Jokic, who had recorded a triple-double in three of the previous five games, managed nine points, nine rebounds and five assists.
Grizzlies: The Grizzlies used their 22nd different starting lineup. … The last time Memphis had a 12-game losing streak was from Jan. 6-31, 2009. .G Myke Henry, called up from the G League before the game, had a career-high five steals. .F Ivan Rabb had a career-best six offensive rebounds, part of Memphis grabbing 17 from the offensive glass
“Just improving over time,” Ball said of how his rookie season is going. “Started off slow, but I think I am getting my rhythm now; I thought I was getting it before I got hurt, so I am trying to pick up where I left off.”
While Thomas might not be a fan of Ball’s form, the Lakers’ newer point guard likes the results so far.
“He is a gym rat, so he is going to continue to get better, no matter what and no matter how it looks,” Thomas said of Ball. “It reminds me of Kevin Martin’s shot when he used to play in the NBA, and how successful was he? He was a really good shooter. So, I think if he just continues to work at it, it is only going to get better.”
“Ginobili, he’ll be trying to drive it to the basket when he’s in his casket,” Gentry said. “That’s just who he is. To me, I don’t know if there has been another guy in this league that is more competitive than he is.”
Paul George had 23 points and 11 rebounds, and Adams had nine points and 12 boards.
Thunder: F Jerami Grant was called for a flagrant foul for a swipe at the head when Powell made a layup in the first half. … The Thunder outrebounded the Mavericks 56-36, including a 19-8 edge on offensive rebounds.
Mavericks: Dirk Nowitzki, who is sixth on the NBA scoring list, reached 31,000 points with his patented one-legged fadeway in the middle of the second quarter. The 39-year-old German, in his 20th season, all with the Mavericks, finished with 12 points. … Powell led Dallas with eight rebounds. … J.J. Barea scored all 12 of his points in the fourth quarter and matched Westbrook with a game-high seven assists.
The Pittsburgh Penguins acquired center Derick Brassard from Ottawa on Friday night in a three-team deal that sent defenseman Ian Cole to Ottawa and forward Ryan Reaves to the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Penguins announced the deal Friday night during their 6-1 victory at Carolina, with Pittsburgh general manager Jim Rutherford calling it “the most complex trade I’ve made” because of salary cap issues and the involvement of a third team.
For different reasons, the Senators and Golden Knights will have an oversized impact on the trade deadline. We preview what could be a wild weekend, along with the Jersey Foul of the Week, a potential Olympic return for the NHL, puck headlines and more.
Pittsburgh is trying to become the first team since the 1982-83 New York Islanders to win three straight Stanley Cups. Brassard figures to slide in as the third-line center behind Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin.
“We’ve tried to get more depth at center and get more insurance there,” Rutherford said. “Our centers have played pretty well, but you’ve got to have a lot of strength at center and we just felt we had a chance to get a guy like this, this was a good addition.”
This offseason, you can expect quarterback-needy teams to try to make space for Kirk Cousins. He’s going to require a large contract, especially after Jimmy Garoppolo signed his mega deal. The Jaguars are just one of a handful of teams that we could see making a push for him, but they would have to make some cuts to make that happen. They could start with Bortles, immediately opening up $19 million.
The spread on the Super Bowl had the Patriots favored by 4.5 points. The line opened at Patriots -6, and dropped as low as -4, but it didn’t matter with the Eagles winning outright. At kickoff, the Eagles were +176 on the moneyline, so if you bet $100 on the Eagles to win the game, you won $176.
The point total was at either 48 or 48.5 at kickoff, depending on your sportsbook of choice. This too did not matter as the game blew past it in the third quarter. After a relatively quiet first quarter, things picked up from there and the final score brought a total of four points. That is the highest point total since 75 combined points between the San Francisco 49ers and San Diego Chargers in Super Bowl 29.
